Sipi- back in August :)

Back in August Annika visited Elise and I in Uganda! Annika is a best bud from Fletcher (we even ran in the Boston Marathon together- although she and Jacqui were way ahead of me :) Annika spent a few days with Elise in the capital of Kampala and then they drove up to meet me half way to Moroto at Sipi Falls. We splurged on the nice cabin, and it was soooo worth in.

Here was our view from the porch of the falls.

This is the window in the shower!

The double shower! (just would have to turn crank on top bar) Was happy just for hot water :)

And a natural stone floor....aaaaah

Oh right, then there was the nature ;)
Underneath the first fall.

Cow up at top!

Elise, me and Annika at the top falls.

It was a great send-off for Elise who is done with her 2 year diplomatic mission at the embassy. For Annika who works in Zambia, it was a nice break from her very hectic research job and a chance to see another African country:) For me, it was paradise to take a break from research and enjoy the company of friends, the waterfalls, and the food!! Annika joined me for 3 days in Moroto, where we did lots of gabbing, she got to experience one of my taco nights with the Moroto gang, went on a hike and to the field and had her own private plan ride back to Kampala :) It went too fast!

With Annika in front seat, I enjoy the back of the Land Cruiser with my team of enumerators

Ladies of Lokwakwa village prepare a song and dance for Annika :)
