Today marks the first day week back in Moroto from vacation in the US! Hard to believe it's already been a week. When I returned to my home it was super clean, I have a very motivated house girl! She stopped in everyday to make sure that the dust didn't collect, bugs were kept at bay, etc. The day before I left Moroto I also moved apartments to the one with the kitchen. It is spectacular!! I purchased the refrigerator and little toaster oven. It has a sink & cupboards, and a wardrobe and double bed! Another wonderful feature is the yellow walls in the living room which provide a soft glow as opposed to the white walls before which made it feel a bit like a hospital when I turned on the lights at night. Recently Moroto has been set up with full time power!! This is a real big event as you can imagine. Kind of exciting to be here at the brink of history! I imagine in some ways its like the westerner pioneers felt in the US when the railroad finally reached them. Anyways, I had first heard it was hydro power, but now I am hearing it is one huge generator, so I am feeling less green about my consumption (although, honestly my mini fridge can't be sucking that much power right ? : / ) Anyways I had to laugh when I came back and found that my housegirl had taken a turn in decorating my place. I had asked her when I moved in to hang up a page from the Oprah magazine which I found particularly relevant, and I liked the photo. Regina has a local method of hanging things, using Colgate, which works like a charm! (Tape just doesn't work). Well, I had donated some old magazines to her (given to me by the previous owner) and she took the liberty to add her own touch to the place. . .

| The one that started it all " And now let us believe in a long year that is given to us, new; untouched, full of things that have never been." |
| New addition, "I just like it when I can Inspire People" -random Pacific Airways lady |
| Dual inspiration for my daily dose |
| 3 additions to the hallway above my Zanzibar cloth-see above (oh yes and she has made the paper chain lovingly in the same way kids in the US would fold their starburst wrappers) |
| Apparently, its these kids' last dance, and we get to join in the fun! |
| Oh yeah, New Jersey |
| Happy to have them gracing my walls |
| Ok in all seriousness here is the kitchen (a bit messy but it was a work day!) |
| Lots of storage! |
| So great to have the clothes OUT of suitcases after 10 months!! |
| Very comfy! |
| Enjoying reading every night with my back against the wall finally and the light switch directly above- I don't have to get out from under the bug net :) |
| Enjoying order, and a full length mirror!!! |
| Regina ironed :) |
| Purchased another plastic shelving unit for shoes! |
| New living room |
| New living room, side 2, proper chairs, so I moved the green plastic ones outside. The stack of clothes was getting ironed (sorry for mess!) and I moved the Target shower curtain which was previously over my kitchen screen to the front door. The gas has FINALLY been figured out, so the blue tank is no longer sitting there:) |
