Today I arrived to the office and was greeted with sad news. There was a multiple terrorist bombing last night. I am 4 hours away from the capital by bus, so I am far away. However, Kampala is the heart of the country in the sense that it is the largest city- full of universities and business. Everyone at the office is tense, awaiting news from loved ones as the reports of the death toll increase. So far 67 have been confirmed dead, with more reports trickling in.
My Fletcher friends, Richard, Stewart, and Lisa were at the site of the bombing. They were watching from The Ethiopian Village, one of the bomb sites. They are OK. They have emailed briefly, but asked us to keep them in our thoughts, as they witnessed awful awful sites.
