"For example, all but two of the Fortune 500 companies in the USA are involved in some form of armament production. The USA is responsible for 49 percent of the weapons sales globally. Even if these companies are in full agreement with national and international weapons sanctions, the $500 billion a year in illegal weapons sales is cash in the tills of the producers and distributors. At the legal level, these represent a significant tax base for the government."
