Sailing Through Boston

Today was a whirlwind day! My friend and former crew coach, Mike Farrey, is out here in Boston. As luck would have it he just started at MIT and has moved here from DC as well. After a long day of driving, and getting extremely lost in Boston--toll roads and all-- I did two great things:
1) Bought a Garmin GPS
2) Joined Mike for sailing on the Charles

MIT has a "free" boathouse for their students. I have no idea how to sail so Farrey took care of the ropes and all while I clicked away on the camera (not such great shots tho...) and soaked in the amazing view of Boston from the water.
And after the water... it was time for a tour of MIT. I felt smarter after just walking around the campus! It is awesome, and very clever. For instance, they have a prank group called "hacks" and they do random events all over campus such as getting a cop car on top of their tower and this which they say "describes the student experience at MIT":
Pretty good stuff! Farrey is taking classes in the Stata Center, designed by Frank Gehry in 2004:
So the building is very neat inside, and I didn't feel like my camera could capture it.
Now I am waiting to get back in the car to pick up dad from the airport. I can not wait! It is time to get my room together and ready for school. Yay for good dads with tools.
