Cambodia Day 3!

Day 3 was a day of wrapping up the Temple Circle. Will spare you from the details. . . but these were more intricate and older. You can tell the difference in styling. One of these actually a French explorer way back in the day stole a statue because they were in financial hardship and had read about the temple. They returned some of the monument pieces after jail time. The man went on to become the Minster of Arts!

But you don't need all the facts as this author states about viewing the temples

But on that first morning I realized that such knowledge was unnecessary to appreciate this remarkable achievement of architecture and human ambition. "There are few places in the world where one feels proud to be a member of the human race, and one of these is certainly Angkor," wrote the late Italian author Tiziano Terzani. "There is no need to know that for the builders every detail had a particular meaning. One does not need to be a Buddhist or a Hindu to understand. You need only let yourself go..."

Following the last day of Temples I went to the Circus- a real treat- I had posted about it earlier- it's an organization that was started during the war to keep the up the spirits of the youth in refugee camps. Everything was spectacular. They write their own script and all the shows have a moral to the story :)

Pre-show dinner for one :)

Getting excited as the sun sets

I thought these were so cool- they are just simple plastic pop bottles that were spray painted with firefly shapes and then hung on a long bamboo stick- they let out such a pretty glow!

All of these moved different directions!!!

A yo-yo- can you spot it?!

Catapult- these 2 jump and land on the board and it sends the other guy flying in the air and he would flip and land on the mat!
