Best Babysitter on the Block

Well, probably the only one on the block ;) But YES I finally got hired to be a babysitter! I sent nearly 40 applications out on Sitter City and was getting discouraged. After a great interview about 2 weeks ago I am happy to say that I have been working with a cute, young family that has a 3 month baby girl who is just precious and really good. Just a bit gassy. She sleeps 4 times a day and I am to clean while she naps. But, they also want me to get hooked on the tv show Weeds lol, so its part of the job too :) It is great to be around a family and feel needed/useful. My latest mantra is "Find the meaning in every day." Monday it was to help alleviate their stress level and improve their quality of life, because they have been living with piles of laundry that they brought with them from their move. In 9 months they got pregnant, got married, moved from Jersey, and had a baby. That means she had pre-maternity, maternity, and winter clothes all stashed away in boxes and bags. Plus, there were bags of baby stuff heaped everywhere-- like baby shower stuff that has no place to go. Monday I tackled the shit out of the upstairs and cleaned the closet space (understatement of the century). The poor things couldn't even walk around!! Progress made! Mondays total-- 18 piles of clothes to be washed next week. Tuesdays goal was to get the baby to sleep, she had a crappy cold, so I would hold her to keep her vertical. I am not ok with putting her on pillows b/c I just get too creeped out about the potential of rolling.

PS-- The Kick&Coast is the coolest chair ever for babies. They kick and it lets them scoot up and down to music and lights. After her bottle she "kicks kicks kicks" that gas out. LOL. No, this is not the baby I watch.

Overall, I think the mantra is working. I feel connected and happier. It all comes down to feeling needed :)
