Missing it

L-Right: Sister Irene (21), Mama Santa the legend, Emily (picture as I was departing Lira, Aug. 28th)
My one and only bro--it was nice living in a house of girls:) But, I heart Brian. This was almost always his face...as his mom told him, "Smiling won't kill you"...but he's a preteen, and this grin is as good as it gets. I caught Brian choking up when I was leaving. I hadn't cried or felt like I was going to until I saw his eyes watering... that's when I had to jump on the motorcycle and leave - or I might never have left.
Emily 1 & 2, not sure which one was "more stubborn" Emily practiced her reading with me at night by reading all of my field notes from focus groups so I could type them up!
Momma Topanga & Topanga (Topi for short)
Topy would cry every time I came out of my room in the morning-- the shock of white skin never really set in
Helen, or her other name which phonetically sounds like "Acheebo" is in Primary 1- her first year of school, she is around 17 years old and is the oldest of 6. She is being sponsored by her Grandma, Mama Santa to go to school and live in town at Mama Santa's house. She cooks meals and does the dishes every day. Hard working woman who always made me laugh as we tried to talk with hand gestures.
