I am feeling good about my classes. I chose to take the following:
1) Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Peacebuilding and International Development with Cheyanne Church
2) Development Aid, Policies and Challenges (1/2 semester) and Development Aid and the Tools of the Trade (1/2 semester) with Dean Uvin & Kim Wilson
3) Seminar on Agriculture and Rural Development in Developing Countries with Steven Block
4) Intro to Economic Theory with Carsten Kowalcyzk (whose former professor was Ben Bernake)
This schedule will allow me to take the Seminar on Evaluation and Learning next Fall (which is a fantastic course which actually produces an evaluation for a client such as this year they are doing an eval. with the International Center for Transitional Justice in NY) Also, I will take Development and Human Rights next year.
I am scheduling time to speak with Professor Louis Aucoin, who specializes in international criminal law and transitional justice. I considered his course, but was surprised to see that I had read most of the sources on the syllabus!! So, I am meeting with him this week to discuss a possible independent study on transitional justice.
