Last weekend I took the Megabus to see Annika and Jill from Fletcher in Chicago. I took the bus once back in DC and knew it would be a good way for me to be able to work while traveling b/c it has internet and power. Well, turns out, it also has THIS KID. A talkative 7 year old with a rash about 1 inch all around his lips from licking his mouth. He was jazzed up about going to see his dad and eat pizza.
Clearly not aware of my computer work.
As Jill said, this kid is straight from the goonies
No boundaries. My leg, his foot, we were sitting at a table.
Finally he got to listen to his mom's music!
Arrived around 8:30 and met up with Mitch and Annika- we walked around downtown for awhile, forgetting that reservations are kinda good to have on a Friday night! Luckily we got in to Rick Bayless' Frontera Grill of all places. It was fabulous- a great way to kick off the weekend.
Salmon on a heap of goodness
Mitch arrived with a 6 pack of craft beers. What a guy!
The next day- shopping and eating commenced!! We booked the Hyatt downtown on Hotwire and awoke in the heart of Chicago's shopping :)
First stop, Tiffany's- because why not?!
Then, it was off to the Nordstrom Bridal Suite to try some looks for Jill's September nuptials!!
Jill was a great sport and liked the shapes of combining 2 dresses.
It was a dream day for me!
Off to shoe sale- but none of us bought any...
And FOOD break at Wicker Park's Antique Taco
Followed by walking around Wicker Park, getting nails done, and heading to new bar before pizza and improv theatre!
Sunday morning we went to the Hancock Tower for drinks so we could overlook the city without the high cost. II had never been up there before and thought it was really cool, we were lucky with a bright day.
Then a healthy walk to Millennium Park.
Sunday morning brunch view- with live piano
Monday night I went and crashed at Mitchy's. We joined Jill for dinner and ice cream
and noticed that across the street was a gym, with their treadmills pointed directly at the ice cream window :)
