I should have said, "Yes, coffee please." when the receptionist asked me if I would like anything for the meeting. Idiot mistake. Little did I know that what I thought would be a simple handover of W2s and student loan printouts with a FEW questions about hypothetical home purchases and small business stuff, would turn into a very long lesson in taxes. At one point I just asked the CPA to please step aside, I had given up on notes and was just going to take a picture of the board. Of course, we all know, I retained NOTHING - p.s. these are all "fake example" numbers- so don't worry- that income at 200,000 is hypothetical :) :)
