I have been waiting to find the energy to type out all of the details of the magical week of festivities in Red Lodge and Luther Montana. My conclusion after a solid day of rest yesterday, and a full load of caffeine that isn't doing the trick-- there are just no words or pictures that can capture the essence and magnitude of the week. One might say this is a cop out, but really there is simply too much to share. I was lucky to fly in early and join the couple, mom and dad at a brewery in billings. We had an amazing home which lent us the perfect landing pad for all festivities in the uber cool town of Red Lodge. We spent a day touring Yellowstone (I have never been!) and then wound our way back (I slept most of the way) on the Beartooth Highway. Wednesday we participated in the patriotism of the 4th by attending the iconic parade- to borrow mom's description--and then the third and final day of the Rodeo. At the end of which a very special message was announced on the big screen by the announcer-- congrats to nick and nicki on their upcoming nuptials! The crowd went crazy (well at least our bleachers did:)
Thursday was a great night to take pause and celebrate the bride-- woohoo for the bachelorette party! Pizza, lingerie, pink cupcakes, best friends from all Nicki's phases of life, sangria, and a bar-hop scavenger hunt. It was PERFECT.
Friday morning Christin, mom and I peeled ourselves out of bed to get cracking on the rehearsal dinner set up so that we could make the rehearsal out at Nicki's grandparent's ranch- the most spectacular wedding location.
Everything went perfect. Nobody could tell that they had the flu on and off throughout the week, and now the couple are living in Hawaii and somewhere in a
tree fort kicking off their honeymoon.
