We went to the mountains

--to take life less seriously-- it's only life after all :)"

so to follow the words of the indigo girls, i hotwired a hotel and packed korey's bags. he had 30 minutes to shower and get in the car on friday so we could make it to the italian restaurant from heaven above by 9pm before their kitchen closed. after one of the best meals ever, we went to find the hotel and were pleased to see we had a room on the golf course. because we drove in at night, we didn't realize until we woke up just how magical our surroundings were. it was like waking up in a wonderland of red rock. it was raining, big storms on and off through the day, but it was great news to us arizonians! and so, before the week of packing and road trip, i feel soothed by knowing how small i am in comparison to this great big world. i told christin in montana, that the best thing i can think of to do for myself right now is to get near something so magnificent that my worries become trivial and minute in comparison to something so grand and awe-inspiring. sedona was just that.

"I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountain
There's more than one answer to these questions
pointing me in crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine."
