Saturday began with a run to the Charles to watch the Head of the Charles at Harvard. This regatta is one of the oldest and most attended races in the world. It was a chilly, windy, but wonderful sunny day. Jacqui and I have become good running buddies and I was happy to get 5 miles under my belt before midterms.

Then it was time for the gourmet pizza party. Before Africana night some friends gathered chez my place for a speckling of pizzas. It all worked out- and I carmelized onions for the first time (so really, the goal is to just not burn them- easy peezy) There was BBQ chipotle; artichokes carmelized onions and roasted squash with ricotta; margherita; spicy sausage and onion; and roasted bell peppers with ricotta. So, pretty much amazing :)
So then it was time for Africana night. Fletcher has 4 cultural nights a year. I was part of 2 fashion shows- the "fun" one which I had a matching outfit with Richard Opio (who is from N. Uganda). Apparently I moved so fast and then moved to the back for the dance to Shakira's 'Waka-Waka'. Next up was the formal wear, where I donned a purple number from Sierra Leone avec headwrap.
